#PitchDis is an online pitch event for disabled authors. I created it in hopes of showcasing pitches from the disabled community, which has been historically underrepresented in the publishing industry. The event will help connect disabled authors with agents and acquiring editors, and is inspired by the Twitter pitch events #DVpit and #PitMad.

The next #PitchDis event will take place in September 2024. Pitches will be accepted September 10-12, and agent and editors may view and make requests September 23-25. Agents and editors who are interested in seeing more of a project may request it, and the author then has the opportunity to send the requested materials to them. Participants must self-identify as disabled, neurodivergent, and/or chronically ill in order to participate, and they must be unagented. Projects must be complete and polished works of fiction or nonfiction.
